Introduction to the 2-Way 2-Position Solenoid Valves Most Used in Factories

The most used in factories are 2-way solenoid valves, 2-position 3-way solenoid valves, and 3-position 4-way solenoid valves;

A 2-way solenoid valve usually consists of one coil and is controlled by one output point of a PLC or other system; when the power is turned on it opens or closes, and it does not work when the power is cut off. This kind of solenoid valve can only perform one movement, a sliding 2-way 2-position solenoid valve, while the other movement requires the cooperation of a mechanical standard, so it is very common in safety valves.

A 2-position 3-way solenoid valve also includes one coil, controlled by one output point of a PLC or other system, that is, it switches when energized, and performs the reverse operation when de-energized; this kind of solenoid valve is suitable for mechanical devices with simple action and repeated movement, such as a cylinder controlled by a single coil.

A 3-position 4-way solenoid valve consists of 2 coils, controlled respectively by two main output points of a PLC or other system; when one coil is energized it opens or closes, and when the other coil is energized the working direction is opposite; if neither is energized, it maintains the original state, and the two coils must not be energized at the same time; the solenoid valve of the normally closed 2-way 2-position solenoid valve type is suitable for mechanical systems with a large stroke and requires a phase sensor.

In factories, these are the most commonly used, plus special solenoid valves such as 4-way and 5-way valves; their functions are all different, but as long as you master their principles, you can use them appropriately.
