Why Are Normally Open Solenoid Valves More Recommended?

A solenoid valve is a fairly commonly used component, but it is also divided into many types. The commonly used ones are the normally open type and the normally closed type. The normally open and normally closed types have quite different control methods. A normally open solenoid valve means that when the coil is energized, the solenoid valve closes, and when the coil is de-energized, the solenoid valve is in the open state. Generally speaking, the liquid-use normally open solenoid valve is in the open state in the pipeline, so when using a solenoid valve, the normally open type is more recommended. The function of the normally closed solenoid valve is to regulate temperature in an environment where steam is the medium. It can also be used in sync with other equipment, such as evaporators and ovens. Because the control methods of the two are quite different, an appropriate control method should be selected according to needs when choosing, so that the working performance of the solenoid valve can be fully brought into play.

The two methods also have different functions. For the normally open type, if the coil is energized, the piston-type normally open solenoid valve closes, and conversely it opens. When the coil is de-energized, the solenoid valve closes; when the current is activated, the solenoid valve is in the open state. For a normally closed solenoid valve, after the coil is energized, it is equivalent to connecting the air; if the coil has no power, the air supply is interrupted. This is equivalent to opening. When the coil is energized, the normally open solenoid valve is equivalent to cutting off the air supply, and when the coil is de-energized, its supply returns to normal. Usually, the appropriate product should be selected according to the duration of operation.

If the solenoid valve is open for longer than it is closed, a normally closed type can be selected; however, if the carbon canister normally open solenoid valve is open or closed for a long time, then the normally open type should be selected. The normally open solenoid valve is also called a self-holding solenoid valve, and its frequency of use is relatively high. For a gas alarm, a solenoid valve that must be open is required. Under different requirements, the type of solenoid valve selected is also different. However, in the automotive industry, the solenoid valves usually used must also be selected in different types according to actual needs.
