As a rather special kind of solenoid valve, the 2-way 2-position solenoid valve has, in many cases, a design concept completely different from other solenoid valves. The combination of these concepts gives this solenoid valve its particularity. This issue explains from its design principle and looks at where the specific differences lie.
1. Manufacturing process
Manufacturers use various processes to manufacture solenoid valves, for example: CNC machining, laser welding, injection molding, coil winding, and deep drawing. After they produce the valve parts, the air-use 2-way 2-position solenoid valve is then assembled from them, including: the solenoid valve iron shell, the magnetic shield retaining ring, the isolation sleeve, the solenoid valve coil, the valve, the air inlet, the exhaust port, the torsion spring, the throttle hole, and the actuator. Usually, the solenoid coil also has a sealing device.
2. Materials
Manufacturers can also use a large amount of materials to make solenoid valves. The valve materials include plastic and metal, such as PVC, natural polypropylene, PTFE, CPVC, stainless steel, red copper, and aluminum. The sealing ring is usually made of a specific rubber, such as fluororubber or NBR. Sometimes, manufacturers also produce stainless steel seals.
3. Design and customization
Select a solenoid valve according to the instruction manual, for example: natural liquid/gas (corrosiveness, danger, viscosity, acid value, etc.), environment, the number of uses of the water-use 2-way 2-position solenoid valve pipeline, and the usage specification. According to the specifications, they can choose from the valve specifications, valve material, valve type and structure, and the number of ports.
4. Features
A solenoid valve has two main functions: a magnet coil and a valve. The coil is a magnetized coil activated by a set of charges and emitting a current. This current forms a magnetic field, converting energy into mechanical energy to drive the actuator. The operating rod is an extended part of the valve, and together with the connected rope it plays the role of moving the valve from the open state to the closed state.
A solenoid valve is usually set as a normally closed or normally open (NC) device. A normally closed valve of a high-pressure 2-way 2-position solenoid valve uses a so-called piston rod or pin, fixed in position by the magnet coil, thereby blocking the flow of current. To start the fluid in an NC valve, the electromagnetic charge must first be pushed out of the coil, and then the piston lifted to let it flow. A NO switch is exactly the opposite. Once the solenoid valves are activated, they close.
