Steam valves belong to pressure pipelines; regardless of whether valve manufacturing requires TS certification, valve installation must have pressure pipeline installation qualifications. Some special gate valves, such as safety valves, require special equipment manufacturing licenses.

Many steam valves require strict selection; for example, customized air-source filter pressure reducing valves and regulating valves must be selected according to factors such as flow, pressure difference, and load variation; if steam valves are simply selected, some problems will arise. If the steam quality is good, the main diaphragm can be selected; if the steam quality is not high, select the spring spring head.

The steam trap, however, cannot be selected according to the size of the steam pipe, because it is likely a different type of trap. Even when installed on a heat exchanger, it depends on actual application, heating, and control methods.

For manual steam valves, bellows sealing is recommended; for air filter pressure reducing valves, manual valves with smaller diameters and for condensation are recommended. For valves above DN300, bellows valves are selected based on cost and installation.

Installation is as important as the valve itself; better upstream/downstream matching, insulation, support, correct installation spacing, and orientation selection all affect the use of steam valves. Steam valve installation must have certain qualifications and experience; numerous cases of improper installation found on site are countless.
