The 4V400 series solenoid valve in direct-acting type adopts a combination of direct and pilot operation. When there is no pressure at the inlet and outlet, energizing causes electromagnetic force to lift the pilot valve and the main valve closing elements upward in sequence, opening the valve. When the inlet and outlet reach the starting pressure differential, energizing drives the small valve body electromagnetically, raising the pressure in the lower chamber of the main valve and lowering the pressure in the upper chamber, pushing the main valve upward by the pressure differential.
When the power is cut off, the pilot valve pushes the closing element down through spring force or medium pressure, thereby closing it; the pressure in the lower chamber of the main valve rises and the pressure in the upper chamber falls, using the pressure differential to push the main valve open upward; when de-energized, the pilot valve uses spring force or medium pressure to push the closing element downward, moving it down to close.
The 4V400 series solenoid valve, pilot type: When starting, electromagnetic force opens the pilot orifice, causing the pressure in the upper chamber to drop sharply and creating a high pressure differential around the closing element; the hydraulic pressure moves the closing element upward to open. When the power is cut off, spring force closes the pilot orifice; the inlet pressure quickly passes through the bypass orifice, and the corrosion-resistant normally open solenoid valve forms a pressure differential around the closing element, pushing it downward to close. When the electromagnet is energized, the linkage is lifted; when the rotating shaft begins to rotate, this action opens the pilot valve; after cutting off the power, the pilot valve closes under the weight of the armature and the return spring.
The 2-position 3-way solenoid is usually paired with a single-acting pneumatic actuator. "Two positions" means two adjustable positions: switching type. The 3-way includes three air passages: one connected to the air source, one to the actuator's intake, and one to the actuator's exhaust; its working principle can be referenced to the single-acting pneumatic actuator.
The pneumatic check valve is generally paired with a double-acting pneumatic actuator. The 5-way has five ventilation passages: one connected to the air source, two connected to the double-acting cylinder, and two connected to the intake and internal air chamber linked to the internal air chamber; its working principle can be referenced to the double-acting pneumatic actuator.
In terms of the air circuit (or hydraulic circuit), the solenoid valve 4V420-15 includes one inlet port (connected to the intake), one outlet port (supplying air to the target device), and one exhaust port. The two 5-way solenoid valves include one inlet port (connected to the intake), one direct-acting exhaust port, and one reverse-acting exhaust port (with a silencer installed).
