A regulating valve reduces pressure by changing the throttling area and altering flow and kinetic energy; by controlling and changing the fluid flow, it can change the valve opening to switch the pipeline medium: closing or opening the pipeline, replacing the flow section of the main valve, etc. It is mainly used for breaking, distributing, and changing the flow direction of materials in pipelines.
In industrial production, one often encounters an air filter pressure reducing valve — a pressure reducing valve, also known as a relief valve. This is a pedal-type automatic valve that uses a valve plate to directly sense the downstream pressure. In this way, the valve can reduce controllable compressed gas to a certain output pressure in a fixed ratio and then send it into the cylinder for filling; when a certain outlet pressure is reached, the air passage opens automatically, thereby maintaining a stable output flow. This pressure regulator usually has a manual actuating mechanism that allows manual adjustment in case of failure.
According to its structural form, the SMG air-source pressure reducing valve can be divided into three categories: diaphragm type, spring-diaphragm type, and bellows type. According to its working characteristics, it can be divided into two categories: general-purpose and high-temperature high-pressure. It is suitable for low-pressure applications; high-pressure applications use the high-temperature high-pressure type.
