AFR Air Source Filter Regulator

The air source treatment component is a combined part required in many machines; internally it is composed of various fittings, the three most important of which are the air filter, pressure reducing valve, and lubricator. Some brands of solenoid valves and cylinders can run without oil (lubricated by grease), so no lubricator is needed! The filter element is usually between 50-75 μm, and the regulating pressure is between 0.5-10 MPa. If filtration precision of 5-10 μm, 10-20 μm, or 25-40 μm is needed, and regulating pressures of 0.05-0.3 MPa or 0.05-1 MPa, there is no piping connection between the three components.

The three major components are an indispensable air source for most pneumatic systems and the final safeguard near the gas equipment. In the direction of air intake, the three main components are, in order, the air filter, pressure reducing valve, and nozzle. The combination of the air filter and the pressure relief valve is called the pneumatic double unit. The SMG air source pressure reducing valve's air source processor can also combine the air filter and pressure reducing valve into a filtered pressure relief valve (whose function is the same as the combined application of the air filter and pressure reducing valve).

In some cases, because no oil mist may appear in the compressed air, an oil mist separator must be used for filtration. In general, these elements can be selected and combined. The air filter is a device that purifies the air source; it effectively filters moisture from the compressed air and prevents moisture from entering the equipment with the gas. The pressure reducing valve stabilizes the air source, keeps it constant, and reduces damage to hardware such as valve bodies and actuators caused by sudden changes in air source pressure. The compressed air filter is a device that purifies the air source; it filters water from compressed air and prevents water from entering the equipment with the gas. The lubricator lubricates the various moving parts of the mechanism and provides lubrication to parts that cannot be oiled, thereby improving the mechanism's service life.
